Divi in 2026: Honest Review After Building 150+ Sites — Is It Still Worth It?

Divi has been in the WordPress ecosystem since 2013 — longer than Elementor, longer than Thrive Architect, longer than most page builders people are comparing it to. In 2026 it's still the #1 selling WordPress theme on ThemeForest with 900,000+ active users. But the market has changed, competitors have caught up in many areas, and the honest question for 2026 is: does Divi still make sense for new projects?

We've built 150+ Divi websites at DesignsLabPro, ranging from simple brochure sites to complex WooCommerce stores and membership platforms. We use it alongside Elementor and Thrive Architect on a weekly basis. Here's our unvarnished 2026 assessment.

What Divi Has Improved in 2025–2026

Divi AI — Now a Real Differentiator

Divi AI has matured into one of the most capable AI features in any page builder. It generates full page layouts from a text prompt, writes contextually aware copy for your specific business, creates and edits images, suggests design improvements based on the current page, and can restyle entire sections based on a brief description. The image generation is genuinely useful — not just stock photo suggestions but actual generated assets sized and styled for the layout.

This is a paid addon ($24/year after the first year of a Divi subscription) but for agencies doing high-volume work, the time savings compound quickly. We've used Divi AI to cut first-draft page build time by 40% on straightforward projects.

Divi Quick Sites — Launch in Minutes

Quick Sites lets you describe your business in a few sentences and Divi generates a complete multi-page website in minutes — home, about, services, contact, blog — with AI-written copy and AI-generated images. The output isn't launch-ready without customisation, but as a starting point to work from rather than a blank canvas, it genuinely accelerates project starts.

Performance Improvements

Divi has historically struggled with performance criticism, and Elegant Themes has invested significantly in addressing this. The 2025-2026 versions generate significantly less render-blocking JavaScript, CSS is more modular, and the Dynamic Framework is now default — loading only the CSS modules used on the current page rather than the full stylesheet. In our 2026 tests on optimised Divi builds, we're hitting 82-90 on PageSpeed Insights mobile, which was difficult to achieve two years ago.

Divi Cloud & Theme Builder Updates

Divi Cloud (save and sync layouts, sections, and modules across unlimited sites) has become a genuine productivity multiplier for agencies in 2026. Build a header system once, save it to Cloud, deploy it across 20 client sites in minutes. Combined with Global Presets (brand tokens that update sitewide), agencies running Divi across multiple clients have a genuinely efficient design system.

Where Divi Still Lags in 2026

The Honest 2026 Verdict

Divi in 2026 is a strong choice for specific situations and a questionable choice for others. Here's the honest breakdown:
